10. SENATOR HARRY REID - If he can stay in power after what his party just went through, he's a great leader. Disagreeing or agreeing with one's political persuasion does nothing to dissuade one's judgment of their ability to lead or not. 9. JOY BEHAR - Loud. In Your Face. Opinionated. Left of Hitler and Stalin. So what? The woman stands up for what she believes. Leaders don't stick their fingers in the air to catch the prevailing wind in order to determine which way to go. Joy is great at leading opinions. And she's pretty too... in a Larry King kind of way!
8. ALEX JONES - Haven't heard of Alex Jones. Better hurry up and tune into his infowars.com. While he thinks everything is conspiratorial, one can't deny that something is terribly wrong and that the politicians are the only ones who have zero power. They're stuck in the middle. Jones points this out with regularity. Catch his act quick before he gets too powerful. You'll know when he's got too much power because he'll fail to show up... not for work.. for breathing.
7. RUSH LIMBAUGH - I'm amazed that people don't think a conservative mind such as this who leads and voices the opinions of millions is disqualified by what they believe. Leaders lead. Look it up. The man is a great leader.
6. SARAH PALIN - What about Sarah Palin makes her such a lightning rod for criticism from the left side of the political spectrum? Is it because she's a sexy, beautiful, moose-killing, mother of 5 who balanced the budget in Alaska and threw out most of the corruption? Or is it because she's not a liberal? Either way, the woman isn't anywhere as dumb as Leno and Letterman and Olberman et. al. would have you believe. Wake up people. The standard fare the left uses on the right is to take the liberal schils in the media and pose all conservative leaders as stupid. Pleeeeeeeaaaaasseeeee....
5. KEITH OLBERMAN - The man took what everyone said was impossible and made it into a nationally respected show - Liberal Thought made palatable for the masses. Again, disagree or agree has no bering on his ability to lead thought. Ideas are what cause armies to march and nations to fall. What he did with his political contributions and the way he handled it on the show were great. Love the guy. His old ESPN Sports Center commercials are still the greatest.
4. SENATOR SCOTT BROWN - A Republican in Ted Kennedy's seat? How about a Republican in the Kennedy Compound's Craw?!!?!?! What he has done is nothing short of amazing! And teasing his daughters on election night was pure gold. Why condemn the man for having fun with his daughters?!! What we sense here is true humility.
3. NICK SABAN - This guy leads like no other coach in America right now. He focuses on process, not results. Focus on the process and the results will take care of themselves. This is what he got in trouble for in Miami when he said as much. He's not concerned about W's and L's. And he doesn't care what people think of his decisions. Amazing gift as a leader. And he hails from Kent State of all places!!
2. JOEL OSTEEN - Have you watched him on TV yet? This is how he is in real life. Unlike any other person on the Top Leaders In America list, Joel is exactly the same on TV as he is with his family, his 300 plus employees, his 5000 plus volunteers and his 40,000 parishoners... as well as any big donors that might stray his way. The ability to be the same no matter what is an indefinable characteristic that is the rarest in all leaders.
1. COACH MIKE TOMLIN - The man is amazing. Super Bowl champions. Loses top players on both sides of the ball every year and keeps on winning. You can see a toughness that is unshakable that covers the ability to love the person inside his employees... both coaches and players. He has the steely resolve one expects from a Steelers coach and has it at an unseasonably young age. Would love to see him coach a college program.
